More about Puerta ¨The kinetic installation Puerta by artists Sara Hernández and David Tobón consists of a door on a platform that continuously rotates around its own axis, stops briefly and then changes its direction of rotation. In this circular movement loop, the door opens and closes the space into constantly recurring new parts. At the same time, all possibilities of precisely locating the door become impossible and the continuity of the movement causes a loss of place and time. With this impossibility of localization and the loss of function of the door as a means of closing or opening a space, the work intends to make the viewer question which concepts of relevance for a positioning within the space or concepts of inside and outside need to be rethought. ¨ -Ioanna Valavanis, prospective art historian.
